ShortStop (paclobutrazol) slows the growth of trees and woody shrubs at the growing point of the branches (apical meristem). ShortStop holds the growth at approximately 10% of it's normal growth and the control lasts for a minimum of three years. 

ShortStop is able to reduce the plant’s growth by interfering with the production of the hormone, gibberellin. The product is soil applied, either by soil injection or basal drench, and is water-immiscible (won’t leach from site). The application can be done anytime of the year, except when the soil is frozen or saturated (heavy rain).

Benefits of using ShortStop include:

*creates less pruning of a tree which ultimately reduces possible damage and stress

*can maintain a tree's size and shape (such as ornamental in front of a picture window, trees by a porch, deck, or pool)

*increases root hair growth while at the same time decreased plant's stem growth

*slows growth on trees in mild decline thus allowing them time to recuperate

*reduces the effects of drought

Sucker-Stopper RTU is made from the plant growth regulator napthaleneacetate (NAA). This product is widely used in commercial agriculture to prevent suckers and as a thinning agent on fruit trees.

Simply spray to control sprouts and sucker growth on apples, olives, pears, non-bearing citrus and ornamental woody plants.

Be sure to treat before new growth suckers are 10 inches in length. The earlier you treat, the better. Control should last about 3 months.
